Man, what a story!! The main thing is that you and yours are all OK; Plenty of time to think about the big lawsuit when you get home I imagine that the lawyers will be lined up at the dock when the ship gets in, with an ample supply of business cards to hand out. I'm home! feeling because we really had a grand time outside of this mishap and because we made it home ok without anyone in my family getting hurt. I'll tell you this though, I have no qualms whatsoever about going back on a cruise, and my family feels the same way. I was sad to see how the press and the media ( like we should be surprised) has really blown this way out of proportion and how they've been giving a black eye to this cruise line and have been portraying them in such a negative way. Nothing could be more further from the truth. This cruise line was phenominal and have accomadated everyone in every way possible. I saw a story in the Orlando newspaper this morning reporting that the coast guard was not informed until the next day! But the truth is that the coast guard IMMEDEATLY surrounded our ship right after the tilt and escorted us back into Port Canaveral. As I was walking off the ship this morning the press was all over the dock and channel 15 from Florida asked if I would do an interview. I said "sure, but my story is a postive one. As you can see I stood on this ship to the very end so if you're looking for a negative one you've picked the worng person." They interviewed me and I told them some of what I said above about the cruise line being so great and about how the whole crew reacted, etc. Then they interviwed little miss Cardi, my daughter. BTW, all those who were hurt and in the hospital all were released last night, including the little kid who originally was in critical condition, and they all returned to the ship to have a good time!!!!! Many of them came in the night club last evening and we gave them a standing ovation and believe it or not, most of them were not bitter or anything like that. Of course I could understand that those who were seriously hurt have every right in the world to sue. But again, most of the stories that I've read in the papers, online or have heard so far on the news have really really been blown wayyyyy out of proportion. Well thanks again to all who sent me PM, called me and post here. I really appreciate it. You're all a great bunch! Now let me go, I'm going to see where I'm going on my next cruise! Damn I miss that ship! Don Cardi

I too am so glad you're back on dry land. I'm sure this is something you'll never forget. However, what a great attitude, being ready to go on another cruise. Wait a few weeks though hu?? :p Here in California, there has been news stories on this ship, however, not as lengthy as you probably have in your area. I have to say, I've not heard anything negative about this cruise ship either. Most reports just indicate what they think may have gone wrong and keep us informed on the injuries of the passengers. Anyway, welcome back. Get a good night sleep now. TIS

Welcome back, DC! Glad to have you and yours back safe and sound on dry land. I understand that the ship is now headed back to Brooklyn to pick up 3000 passengers for its next cruise. Federal investigators will also be waiting there to determine if the vessel is seaworthy for future voyages. Now, if you're really itching to go on another cruise...maybe they could fit you in! Ok, some of you PMed me asking to post some pics. Here are a few. I will post more later. Here are a few pics of the 'EXTRA' food that was made for us by special order of the Matr'd that was NOT on the menu. This guy made us fried calamari, baked clams, fried shrimps, platters of italian hams and cheeses, foccacia breads, escargots, crab legs, you name it and he gave it to us. Here are some pics of a 'few' of the decks. One pic is a deck that has a huge screen where you can watch movies all day long and late into the night while lying on a lounge chair on the deck. I'll post more pics later for those who are interested. Don Cardi

I have a digital camera and the pics of the ship's deck were taken very early in the morning. As you can see, I'm an early riser! I also tribute the quality of the photos to the real beauty of the Islands where I took the pics of the beaches. I found throughout my travels that the Islands which are under British rule, such as Grand Caymen, Bermuda, etc, are the most beautiful, well kept and naturally preserved Islands in the Caribbean.
