I think Don Cardi has made some very fair and decent points. Obviously, a ban on cell phones isn't gonna stop kids from bringing them. So if they are gonna allow them, some rules and guidelines need to be implemented and executed.

My whole problem with the "cell phones in school" issue is the fact that kids don't bring their cell phones to school for emergencies. Kids use them to cheat on tests, and the phones are a more convenient means of passing notes.

I think the kids should be FORCED to leave their phones in their lockers or in their cars when they arrive to school. In the event of an emergency (be it a terrorist attack or a school shooting), I'm sure the teachers and staff will have their cell phones readily available.
