Just wondering if anyone is looking forward to any concerts coming up this year. I definitely am. The Bamboozle is at the Meadowlands on May 6th and the Warped Tour is in Camden on August 3rd. I can't wait for either one. Both line ups look awesome. Hopefully AFI will also be touring this summer. I'd love to see a fucking Boston reunion too.

If you're gonna be at the Meadowlands, Pat, stop by and say hello. I'll buy you a six pack. :p

Lately I've been doing the blues/jazz clubs around here, and to be honest, it's a lot more fun than bigger concerts, because there's a lot more talent and good music in those small clubs, and much cooler people in the audience. Royce Hall at my school also has a lot of great concerts, like Taj Mahal next month, which I'm definitely going to go to. If you click on that link, there's background music on the site, just turn up your speakers. It's good stuff. I also wanted to see Billy Joel at the Staples Center next month, but it's all sold out. Dammit!

I haven't been to a good concert in a very long time. Not too many people I'd pay the big bucks to see. I didn't know Billy Joel was gonna be in town. One I'd love to see. Zia, have you ever been to a concert at Glen Helen in DeVore? TIS

Tony Love, I would imagine Chicago would be a popular concert stop no??? Unless his tour is limited to the East/West Coast. Maybe I'll catch him in NYC when I'm there. I'd also like to see Elton John and of course The Rolling Stones, who already played here in CA, but were sold out too. Tickets were a bundle though. TIS

TIS, I saw the Rolling Stones at The Meadowlands a few years ago and Elton John when he played Madison Square Garden. My husband got the tickets for the Stones from one of his vendors, but it was a very chilly night, and NJ on a cold night does not work well for outdoor arenas. They were, however, totally awesome. I'm amazed at Mick and how much of a show he still puts on.
I won the Elton John tickets on WPLJ, a NY radio station (I was the first caller to recognize Tiny Dancer played backwards). We had front row seats. It was an incredible experience, especially when I turned around and all of MSG was behind us.
Sir Elton put on a fantastic show. There was no band, just him at the piano. He is so very, very talented, although he's lost his range a bit. When he hit that first piano chord from Benny and the Jets, the crowd went absolutely insane. And then somewhere in there, he segued to In The Mood and back to Benny, and it was just jaw-droppingly well done.
There aren't too many groups today that I would pay to see, except maybe Green Day. They seem like they would be a great concert band.

See my avatar!!!! It's the only thing I'm looking forward to this year since my love life just you know - sucks! So I "live" through Tim & Faith..... I'm going to 2 shows so far. The presales for North Carolina are coming up so I'm hoping to find someone who will be willing to go all the way there with me..... Tim & Faith are going to be "in the round" this year with runways streching into the audience! :-) I can't tell you all how excited I am!!!!! In Greenville SC I'm sitting 6th row and in Knoxville I'm sitting 10th row. With Faith there, Tim won't be quite as interactive with the females.... actually when Faith is on stage he pretty much ignores us....but it still will be great. I love seeing the two of them together *sigh* they are quite a pair with still so much chemistry together. Also Casting Crowns is in town tonight - they are one of my favorite Christian bands - but I didn't get tickets and I work until 6pm anyway so...... As long as I get to see Tim and Faith then I am a happy camper. I promise I will not post any more about it though since I am the only fan here! :p

Saw Paul McCartney last year. That was the best concert I've ever seen, and I've been to a KISS concert! Nothing like hearing Beatles songs live sung by the best Beatle (Musically at least).
AND, I JUST GOT TICKETS FOR JIMMY BUFFETT! YES!
He only does about 20 shows a year and the tickets sell out notoriously fast. All of these shows sold out online in a record 40 seconds. A lot of brokers buy out the tickets early because they can charge out the ass for them later and the crazy Parrotheads will buy 'em up (I am a Parrothead and yes I would have paid more if I had to buy them through a broker! :p ). The tickets I got which are actually in the Pavillion (All his shows are outdoor shows) were $86. If you search at an online broker now, they are going for 300-500 for Pavillion and 100-150 just for the lawn seats! Damn I feel so lucky.
Jimmy Buffett shows are the greatest! One big party! Huzzah! Any other Parrotheads here?

I just got more Jimmy Buffett tickets.
I'll be seeing him three times this year. Once in New Orleans on May 8th, then in Ohio on June 8th, and lastly on Aug 5th in Chicago.
This will be the best summer a Parrothead could ever ask for.

I'll be going to the Children of Bodom concert next week, and the Avenged Sevenfold concert in May. Possibly an Ozzfest or Xfest thrown in there somewhere. Maybe Warped Tour.. last year I was snuck in by a band playing there Which was awesome. Originally posted by DonFerro55: Any other Parrotheads here? Here.

I was planning to indulge myself in seeing David Gilmour at Radio City Music Hall this May, as a birthday-present to myself. But, other things came up, and I missed my chance on tickets.
But, the one thing I am looking forward to is a U.S. leg of Radiohead's upcomming tour. It seems like this album is just taking an overwhelmingly long time to complete, but I suppose that is best. I'm not expecting them to reach North America until the fall, if not early winter... But it'll be damn worth the wait.
I'm also looking forward to Pearl Jam (who, I've never seen as anything but just an OK grunge band who I enjoy moderately, but it'd be great to see them live) and Dave Matthews.
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."
