The book 1984 was quite futuristic, but not like the films 2001 and 2010 -- and yet, when they came out, those years seemed a lifetime away!

Funny, fiction is! I sometimes wonder why we haven't yet met up with such expectations from years ago.... cuz I, for one, would love a trip into space before I die...
