No further details were released, including how the actor and his wife, Alice Kim Cage, were inspired to borrow from the mythology of Superman in naming their child. Cage is known as an avid comic book devotee who once sold his personal collection, including a copy of Superman's 1938 pulp debut, at auction for more than $1.6 million. The nephew of famed filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, the actor adopted his own stage surname from the Marvel Comics superhero Luke Cage. Cage also was at one time slated to star in a Superman movie under the direction of Tim Burton, a project that ultimately was scrapped and replaced by a newer Warner Bros. remake expected for release next summer. The 41-year-old actor and his wife, a former sushi waitress about 20 years his junior, met at a nightclub last year before marrying on July 30, 2004. Remember, poor people are crazy. Rich people are eccentric! Anyway, I actually think the name has a ring to it: KAL-EL COPPOLA CAGE. Of course, JOR-EL(  ) sounds much cooler, but that is just me. Besides, KAL-EL is cool compared to some stupid celebrity names out there.....APPLE/MOON UNIT anyone?

The most shocking thing for me is the fact that I have a cousin by the same name ! Me uncle was a big Superman fan. He named his first son Jor-El. It's a MAD WORLD full of Crazy people...
There are weird names such as:
-Bophary
-Jolle
-Muffi-Jo That ain't nothing compared to some celbrities who have called their children "Apple" or "Pilot Inspektor" (that one sounds like the name of an evil, machiavellian Nazi officer with a monocle)

If I'm going to have children, God knows the mother would not want to name them after a comic book character. I think it's retarded to name your children some goofy names, unless they're on a level of decency. I can see naming your dog Kal-El or whatever, but not someone in your family. I really don't care what people do, I just think it's retarded.
