I've already had one of those.

Trust me they're not all they're 'cracked up' to be...tend to attract you to whacky BB Boards.

If this smoking ban wasn't true and it was April 1st this would have been a good April fool's joke.

Surely the Yankees/Mets or other fans wouldn't mind switching to the Astros for the weekend? I mean, is team loyalty really that big of a deal? We can bond over Sportscenter.

Does that mean we get to see your Willy up close?

I literally laughed out loud on that one. :p

But let's be serious. Yes, you could see my Willy up close if you came over.

Wouldn't that really be such fun, though? I'd love to have y'all here to watch the games with me.

Depending on the city they usually take in the sights, and also try to visit Godfather-related landmarks, if any.

I remember last year's Convention was in New Jersey...I only joined the gang one evening for dinner & drinks, but they did visit the Long Island house used as the 'Corleone Mall' in GF.

This year of course, we'll be headed for the Moshulu in Philly.

I guess it's mostly a way for Gangster BB members who live far apart to get together in person and have fun a few days out of the year.

Just like any other 'convention', I suppose.

Becky's flight to Cleveland was cancelled so my trip is delayed for a day. Now she won't be here till tomorrow morning. Her boyfriend was going to drive her 9 hours to get her up here but that is to much driving for him so she is going to catch another flight instead. Well talk to ya when I get back. Miss me

The convention sounds like fun. Reminds me of this movie I watched, it was a cheap $1 movie I got from walmart called Al Capone. I thought the movie would be terrible because of the price but was pretty good and more like a documentary, it started with a group of people taking a tour on a bus through places of interest associated with Capone through Chicago.

I've had to cancel my Hilton reservation for Saturday, 8/19.

There's been a slight schedule change at my job, which resulted in a juggling of my vacation dates as well. Unfortunately (for me, anyway) this leaves no room for a day in Philly with the Gangster BB.

Everyone have a GREAT time...I'll look forward to seeing the pics.

Best,

From what I remember from my kid's Happy Meals days, the McDonald's toys are much better.

I still have an entire collection that I used to keep on a shelf in my office at work.

I have a favor/question!

When we leave Philly, can I hitch a ride with whomever will be passing around the Time's Square area, so I can get to my hotel? Or even to a point where I can catch a cab/ride? If not, please point me in the right direction so I can get there? I have no idea where any of you live, and/or what directions you'll be traveling to get home.

I don't want to put anybody out, or have to go out of their way, but like to know ahead of time.

Thanks

TIS

Don't mean to stir the pot after we've had dinner decided on, BUT.....

My mother took a recent day trip to Philly. She sailed on the Spirit of Philadelphia and said it was wonderful. They sail all around the harbor for about 3 hours, they have music, entertainment and she said that the food was quite good. Don't know how many we are, but me might qualify for a group discount.

Anyway, I really didn't want to stir up any trouble, but wanted to at least mention it, in case anyone's interested.

Hmmm! Don't know about a cruise ship. Never been, as I've been partial to being firmly planted on land. :p

Why don't you schedule it for Friday, and leave Saturday as is????? Or am I missing something? Although judging by the cruise times listed, I can't guarantee I'll make it (if it's on Friday)since I arrive at 5:00 in Philly. But I have absolutely no problem if you guys want to go. I'll be there when you get back. I just don't want to go in circles again over where to eat. :p
