Wow, I can't wait 'til SB reads that! She's held "saggy" against me for like a year!

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Bitch??? Bitch???????? Oh my goodness, DC, you are living SOOOOO dangerously!! On one hand, I could make you cry like a little girl, but what kind of retribution would that be? If I remember correctly, the last time I did that, you actually LIKED it, and begged for more...

You know, after I posted, I said to myself, Self, that could be taken two ways, given the dangling modifier. But, after JG egging me on, I went full throttle, of course.

Yes they do.

It's a relatively short ride and shouldn't be more than maybe $5 or so; I wouldn't expect the hotel to provide us with transportation, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I was looking at the Moshulu's site and I found a mistake. They said
Quote:
1986: In another major film appearance, she is in a scene “Godfather Part II.”
I sent them a email asking them to change it. I wonder if they will or not

No, no, no, no!!! That totally blows. How can they do that?? They specifically asked if we wanted smoking or non-smoking rooms. They must've known this was in the works!!!

OK... lets start all over again.

We have the weekend set already so we're one step ahead now. Do we stay in Philly or do we go somewhere else?

I agree 100%.

They should honor those (smoking room) reservations.

Not trying to kid around or rub anyone's nose in it...and although it's better for me personally I'm completely against these recent 100% 'bans' even in restaurants in NY/NJ. But I seriously don't get it when it comes to smoking (amongh other things).

Sure it looks cool, but you're inhaling SMOKE!!

I've tried it twice and never got past the choking stage. From what I understand, you have to do it a few times before it comes with that 'ease' smokers seem to have.

What is it about smoking that makes people determined to get accustomed and then eventually addicted to the process...to the point where ??

Thanks,
Apple

When Mr. Babe was in Philly last year on business, he stayed at The Wyndham. I just checked their website and they have a number of rooms available for $109 per night. You can cancel up to 4:00 pm on the 18th.

They should honor those (smoking room) reservations. [/b][/quote]I would think you could have some sort of legal recourse if you specifically asked for smoking/non-smoking beforehand, no?

Well if the ban is due to some new PA law then the hotel probably can't honor anything. If it's just a new hotel policy then they still probably won't and should at least mail notices to all that have booked 'smoking' rooms.

And I'd venture to guess that with exactly two months until the 'convention', even if all cancelled it might not be too easy booking something else.

But if it's important enough (and I'm guessing it is), I'm sure you guys will be able to arrange something...just keep me posted.

Here is a copy of the email I got back from the hotel:

Dear Mignon,

Our reservations agents will be contacting those with smoking reservations to inform them of the change but, yes, the whole hotel will be non-smoking at that time, including the lounge.

Jessica

According to the receptionist that I spoke with, as of July 1st 2006 a new law will go into effect and The Wyndham, along with other Philadelphia Hotels, will be 100% non smoking.

Personally I will not stay in a place that has a 100% non smoking policy. Although I ususally don't book a smoking room because of my family, I will not pay for and stay in a place that will not allow me to smoke in their bar, etc.
