Excellent idea...except I figure the Saturday poll should be set up first, only because it's the night with the most number of people attending. Once Saturday is decided, then set up the Friday poll, excluding only the restaurant that got the majority Sat. vote.

I'd be happy to set up the polls but Don Cardi, you've got all the names right there in front of you so...GET TO WORK !!!

Absolutely right about a buffet brunch, Apple. How can you go wrong with an unlimited supply of pork products!!

Sorry SB I'm not one for grits. Food is a great subject to talk about. Maybe when I see you you can bring some of your Italian recipies. Please

I was a little worried about that menu you posted, DC - didn't seem like much of a selection. However, La Veranda 's site has a bigger menu.

Looks good to me - there's outdoor seating if the weather isn't too hot/wet, and you can reserve online if that's what we decide....

I also found Moshulu 's site -- there's a Sunday Brunch buffet there, too.

I'm not that familiar with Penn's Landing - but found a map of locations. Seems La Veranda (#18 on map) & Moshulu (#16 on map) are about 6 blocks apart. The map is accessible here -- the link in the bottom left of the blue section.

Hey, there's a ferry that goes to beautiful Camden, NJ !

Penn's Landing seems to be a bit of a hike from the hotel, so I assume we'll need some transport.

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Don't worry, we can always get Tessio or Lou to handle the transportation.

Well the question now is does anyone know if the city of Philadelphia has taxi cabs available on the streets, the way that they are readily available in New york?

Or perhaps Mama Mig can find out, through Becky, if the Hotel will provide us with transportation of some sort.
Personally I'd rather cab it, than drive myself, so that I can TRY and have as many cute little blue drinks or stoli martini's as you and TIS have. :p

As BethE Said, Spaghetti ala Carbonaora. If it's made the right way, then it's out of this world. It probably happens to be my favorite Pasta Dish. The right way is to use Prisciutto with onion and egg. And the key is to mix the egg in right away, the timing must be perfect. Otherwise you wind up with a Spaghetti and Prisciutto omlet!

It's a fantastic dish.

Holy cow, Miggy, you are really from the sticks! :p

Prosciutto is an Italian ham that's cured and sliced paper thin. It's very nice and tasty, but kinda salty in excess.

Actually, if it's authentic, you're supposed to use pancetta, which is sort of Italian bacon. And definitely no cream!! Most place take their alfredo sauce, toss in some bacon, and pass it off as carbonara. Not even close to the real thing. I have to tell you, when we were in Rome, I ordered carbonara everywhere we went. It was wonderful.

I was that drunk???

I'm laughing right now because this reminded me of the scene in Saturday Night Fever when John Travolta is dancing with Fran Drescher. He says, "I hope you're better in bed than you are on the dance floor, " and she tells hime that she must be because her lovers always send flowers the next day and he replies, "Maybe they thought you was dead."
