I found a great place for 2006!! My mother went there the other day and said it's beautiful and that the food was very good. It's the Renault Winery in Egg Harbor, NJ. She said it's about a half hour from Atlantic City, so gamblers can have their fun if they like without a worry that it will consume the weekend. The place has a hotel called Tuscany House (I know, I know!), a restaurant, golf course, pool, etc. They have a package that includes your room, a bottle of their champagne, dinner, a tour of the winery, and wine tasting. It's $265 per couple on weekends for June-October, less during the week, and even less in May. If anyone would like to see the website, it looks very pretty. Winery and Tuscany House

We could have a side trip to the Pine Barrens to find the Russian from the Sopranos. Speaking of which...SB did you know the famous Pine Barrens scene from the Sopranos was filmed in Harriman Park near Lake Tiorati??

[/b][/quote]Yes, and I heard that the scene where they get rid of Ralphie's body was also somewhere in the Hudson Valley, perhaps Sloatsburg?? Not sure. Also, when Tony is in Maine with Meadow to look at colleges, and shoots the guy? Also Rockland County. Well, my mother's not much of a drinker, but she said that this place is famous for their blueberry champagne, and that they greet you with a glass. She's been there a few times and really likes it. They do it as a group and include a trip to AC.

You know, I think it's great that all you NYers get together from time to time. I'd be there in a minute if I were closer. Since I'm sure the travel/expense isn't easy for everyone,I'd suggest, for the regular posters who are interested to have, say I shall, "regional" meetings. :p Of course it'd never be the same without the head honchos like Geoff/SC, but still could be a whole lot of fun. Then we could also have a yearly bash for those who want to go as well. I don't suppose there's anyway to do a breakdown by state of who's who by state. TIS

Many of the Member's Profiles are incomplete, and those that have a "From" area may be listed by state, city, county, etc. The closest you'd come is looking at our Directory and sorting it by either name or number and then by "Location". Be prepared to see a lot of nonsense entries and blanks. By this time you don't know who lives near ya??

Many of us are originally from NY City and now live in New Jersey (Myself, Don Cardi, Turnbull) or other NYC suburbs (SC, Sicilian Babe). There's not one board member that I am aware of who actually lives in NYC.

We had a "convention" last year in Chicago that coincided with an organized Crime Convention being held. The thread for that get-together is still listed under "General Discussion" ('search' for "Greetings from Chicago"). The second big sitdown was last weekend in Jersey. You live near the City?

The promoter of the Golden Age Of Gangsters Convention that we went to in 2004! This is what he wrote me : ------------------------------------------------------------ "Hi, I've been trying to work with the Holiday Inn Midway in Chicago. It's right at the airport, free parking etc-but they are giving me a ridiculous quote for the room I need, so I dont know yet what's going to happen...I'll definitely know as soon as I know... Stay in touch-talk soon-Harry" ------------------------------------------------------------ How ironic is it that this guy drops me an e-mail today just after I posted over in the other topic that I have been trying to contact him for 6 months? Hey, we just might have our venue for the 2006 Gangster BB weekend after all! I will definately let you all know as he let's me know. Don Cardi

Another appropriate location would be San Francisco. I was there about 3 years ago with Saladbar; The FFC Winery is a nice tour with GF memorbilia; and there's alcatraz, not to mention their Little Italy, which is very quaint. The food in Frisco is good as well. I would love to see it again. Although, rooms may be costly, I'm not sure. Just more food for thought. TIS
