Wilders blowing up the coalition we have to see in a bigger picture of the rise of European populist parties. He finally sees it is going nowhere if coalition partners don't want to play hard ball to save EUROPE ! Always saying they want to control immigration to please the voters but not doing anything about it. Old Politics has to chance it is disgusting !
Court confirms: Marine Le Pen loses seat as councillor in Pas-de-Calais department In France, Marine Le Pen will indeed lose her seat as a councillor in Pas-de-Calais, the court in Lille confirmed. The radical right-wing politician was convicted 3 months ago for embezzling European money and is banned from running for election for 5 years. Le Pen is appealing the verdict.
Iza Vanheusden Published on 2 hours ago Marine Le Pen is to be removed from her position as a councillor in the Pas-de-Calais department. This was confirmed by the administrative court of Lille. Le Pen had previously appealed against the loss of her council seat, but the judge has now ruled that her removal is justified.
Le Pen, the former leader of the far-right Rassemblement National (RN) party, was recently convicted of embezzling European funds. The conviction means she is banned from running for office for five years. The Lille court ruled that the sentence means she will automatically be removed from her position as a councillor.
Le Pen's response Le Pen's lawyer, Thomas Laval, deplored the verdict: "The verdict deprives her of the opportunity to represent voters, while she is still considered innocent pending her appeal."
He also immediately announced that Le Pen will appeal the verdict of the court in Lille. This appeal will temporarily suspend her removal from office. The precise consequences for her position are still unclear at this time.
The politician was convicted in March by the Paris court for embezzling some 4.4 million euros in European money . The court sentenced her to 4 years in prison, of which 2 years effective. She is also banned from standing for election for 5 years. Le Pen announced in April that she will appeal against that decision.

I haven't watched enough of Shawn Ryan (this is only my 3rd episode in fact) but well worth the watch. It deals with NDE's (near death experiences) and the afterlife. It's 4 hours long but I break it up, 30 mins here, 60 mins there, etc.

But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away

Good choice I live in an apartment in the city so I have no room but grew up with dogs. In my street area we have a lot of staffys pits and the likes though a bit of a cultural thing lol. If you go to the countryside you find more of the bigger guard dogs protecting farms.

PVV remains stable despite cabinet fall, shifts minimal in new polls The Hague- Despite the fall of the cabinet, the PVV remains stable in the polls. Various polling agencies show that the rift on asylum does not lead to further loss of seats. Geert Wilders' party is hovering around 30 seats, while PvdA/GL follows at a small distance.
12 minutes ago The Ipsos I&O survey is the first survey since the fall of the cabinet. The poll shows that the PVV is maintaining its position at 30 seats despite the coalition break. This picture is reinforced by a new poll by Maurice de Hond, which shows that the PVV is stabilising around this number with 31 seats. That is less than the 37 seats in parliament that the party won in November 2023. Nevertheless, the party is polled as the largest by Ipsos I&O and De Hond.
PVV not blamed for cabinet fall According to the Ipsos researchers, the stable position of the PVV can be explained by the question of blame. After all, only sixteen percent of PVV voters blame the PVV for the fall of the cabinet. Fifteen percent of the supporters believe that Wilders put the party interest above the national interest, according to the Ipsos I&O research.
The polls show that the PVV supporters are divided in their appreciation of the cabinet's fall. Just under a third call it positive, but a similar proportion consider the end of the cabinet to be negative. At the same time, 87 percent believe that the other parties actively prevented the introduction of strict asylum policies.
