Hamas says it rejects Israeli cease-fire offer, as it does not include end of war

A Hamas official told Al Mayadeen on Monday that it rejects an Israeli offer for a cease-fire, as it does not include a full end to the war that it started on October 7, 2023.

The official added that Israel's continued killing, destruction and starvation of the Gaza Strip prove it is not genuinely interested in negotiating a truce.

The official also said the militant organization is under heavy pressure, including from the United States, to cede its demand to end the war, but it remains steadfast in its position.
