The Does are one of the lesser-known but nevertheless important Romany families of the Southern English Counties. Individuals of the name occasionally came to the attention of the Gypsiologists and so appeared from time to time in the pages of the Journal of the Gypsy Lore Society in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
