Personally I think that crew's impact would be overstated. They were just a handful of guys. Yes they were killers and they were dangerous but all the families had armies of killers at that time. There was no shortage of shooters in NY in the 80s.
Besides, most of the people that crew killed were lured into their social club on some pretense and killed on the sneak. You can do that to someone who's clueless but you can't do that in a war with other crews.
The would fight against Luccheses (because Gigante used them for the dirty work) and the Gambinos had more killer then Amuso and Casso.
