I find it strange to he left his family in NJ.
If I'm not mistaken, Joe Adonis was so powerful in the Luciano family that even Vito Genovese feared him. He has more power then a captain.
I agree he would have been the boss if they didn't deport him, in Italy he was more succesful and wealthy as Lucky.
