Once Carl and Bernie were killed, Earl left in 1951 as there were a number of attempts on his life. The only associate I know of Chicago that lived in the area was Charles Cassano, and he helped manage the bank. It is my understanding that Chicago did not interfere with the locals and Wortman became boss of the area, but they did business with other the Italians when it came to laying off bets and gambling to an extent. I find no more troubles after 1955.
