Chicago's Richard Cain aka Scalzetti or Scalzitti membership in the Outfit is a little bit murky, especially regarding his real background. Some say that he was either half-breed or wasnt Italian at all (currently cant remember what his brother's book said about it) and allegedly lied to his sponsors such as Pat Marcy and Giancana. While other researchers speculate that he was never made, something which conflicts with the FBI sources. That situation, followed by his police, CIA and Cuban contacts, and also he being allegedly fluent in several different languages, and also knew his way around electronics, weapons and training skills, all of this makes Cain one of the most mysterious individuals in the Outfit at the time, next to other "elusive" associates such as Larner. If you ask me, Cain was probably a made member and no matter if he lied or someone from his sponsors turned a blind eye, still they possibly took him in.
