Ralph Natale was made and a minute later he was appointed Boss.
I wasn’t sure to include him since it was kind of a phony position set up by Merlino, In an interview he claimed to have been made sometime before the books opened under Bruno but I guess that could just be him telling one of his many tall tales on YouTube since I’m pretty sure he also said it was a “secret ceremony” or some nonsense
He was the actual boss for some time. It wasn't phony. Sure, Merlino had a lot of power and was running things on a day to day basis but Natale was the official Boss and was making decisions too.
But yeah, he claimed that he was previously made in a secret ceremony by none other than Carlo Gambino and Angelo Bruno. That's ridiculous and nobody believed him. That's why Joey Merlino made sure Natale was properly inducted before being named boss because he knew the story was bullshit and the other families would make it an issue that the Philly Boss wasn't even made.
