Mark Knopfler joins forces with more than 60 artists for charity, including Bruce Springsteen and Sting. Together they release a new version of Knopfler's Going Home: Theme Of The Local Hero.

The Dire Straits frontman invites a huge list of rock icons for this collaboration. Guitar greats such as Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Slash and Ronnie Wood each contribute to the new version of Knopfler's 1983 hit, to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The song will be released on March 15.

Not just guitarists
Although most of the artists are well-known guitarists, Knopfler also invites Ringo Starr and his son Zak Starkey for the drums, Sting for the bass guitar and The Who's Roger Daltrey for the harmonica. Other legends in the guitar lineup include Joan Jett, Eagles' Joe Walsh, The Who's Peter Townshend and TOTO's Steve Lukather.
