I figured I'd post up another little quiz for the holiday....so, have at it boys!
Organized crime has provided us with lots of colorful nicknames. Mobsters have been nicknamed for their looks, such as Big Nose Jimmy, Fat Frankie, Skinny Tommy and Cockeyed Joey. Some guys were named for their criminal propensity or legitimate vocation such as Tommy the Blade, Nick the Baker, and so on...A popular mob nickname was the name “Burns.”
So here’s the challenge…These next five hoodlums each had this nickname. Four were “connected” to New York City Families, the fifth was affiliated with the New England Family.
Like Malavita so eloquently said, “You know the drill.”
Your job is to identify each man by listing his REAL “first and last name” and matching the (letter) of his nickname with the corresponding (number) of the Mafia Family he was with. For instance, you could say C-2, and his real name was Frank Russo.
Have at it fellas. Let’s see how well you know mobsters and their nicknames. A) Tony Burns B) Johnny Burns C) Joe Burns D) Terry Burns E) Sally Burns
1) Bonanno (NY) 2) Bonanno (NY) 3) Gambino (NY) 4) Genovese (NY) 5) Patriarca, (NE)

E - 4 : Salvatore "Sally Burns" Granelle (Genovese Family) Malavita, you are "technically" correct. There was a Sally Burns with the Genovese Family, who's real name was Salvatore Granello as you mentioned. But I can't give you this one. Not only because he was not the "Sally Burns" I listed (which, as you know, I would still give you because you did, in fact, nail a Sally Burns,). But you'll understand the full reasons why I can't once I release their 5 true identities and affiliations later. But Salvatore (Sally Burns) Granello was a top soldier with the Mulberry Street faction of the Genovese. Thats for shit sure. But pal, that was still a great pick! - PS: And here's one hint that may help clear things up a bit. The "Sally Burns" listed WAS also with a NYC crew....Just not that particular guy or that family.

E - 4 : Salvatore "Sally Burns" Granelle (Genovese Family) Malavita, of the five men listed, the "Sally Burns" in question, was actually a longtime Bonanno soldier who came from the Mulberry Street area of New York's Little Italy. His real name was Salvatore Morale. In fact, he lived right down the block from the private social club were the Sally Burns you mentioned, Salvatore Granello, was supposedly lured to his death. So E-1 is now accounted for....There are still 4 men left to identify.
