Too easy to make the jury biased in finding the defendants guilty in my honest opinion before the trial even begins. Very difficult to stay within the law if a couple mobsters are the defendants.

So thats the reason for a mistrial.

Now guys like Gotti paid off Judges and killed witnesses and jury members but thats a different story.
