German-Iranian top criminal arrested in Colombia for cocaine record

One of the most wanted people in Europe was arrested in Colombia on Monday : the German-Iranian Pouya Mohmini (44). He is suspected of having smuggled tons of cocaine to the port of Hamburg in collaboration with Colombian and Dutch criminals, among others. The network also operated in the Netherlands and Antwerp. Mohmini was arrested in Ciudad Jardín, an exclusive part of Cali.
16 tons
One of the shipments arrived in Hamburg from Paraguay by sea container in February 2021. Ultimately, 16 tons of cocaine were seized . The 13,824 blocks of coke were hidden in 1,728 cans. The final destination of the drugs was The Hague.
Mohmini's group operated from Hanover. Detectives arrested eleven men (aged 27 to 58) after the record discovery during raids in Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and North Rhine-Westphalia.
Many people have already been arrested and convicted in the investigation into the discovery of 16 tons in Hamburg and 7.7 tons in Antwerp, in Germany and the Netherlands. Here there were raids and arrests in Den Bosch and Schiedam, among others. Two Schiedam brothers, among others, were prosecuted here . A Utrecht resident was arrested in Abu Dhabi in the case .
Mohmini, along with several others, is said to have been the mastermind behind the transport. He lived in Colombia with false papers under the name Reza Raskshan.
Konstantinos S.
According to Bild, Mohmini belongs to the circle of Konstantinos S. (41), the alleged head of the German criminal network. S. was arrested by detectives in Dubai in 2022, but released on bail.
Other names mentioned in Bild are Andres C. from Laatzen (43, currently in Spain) and IT expert Khaled B. (50, sentenced to ten years in prison in October 2023). The forwarder who helped the smugglers get the cocaine out of the port is also serving 12.5 years behind bars.
Mohmini's lawyer Dimtrios Kotios states that M. denies the accusations. M. has now been extradited to Germany and is awaiting transfer in Frankfurt to a detention center in Lower Saxony.
Paraguayan businessman Diego B. (39) is also accused of international drug trafficking. He is believed to have been held in custody in the United Arab Emirates since late last year.
