“Petrolmafie”, the trial against the 'Ndrangheta gangs in the Vibo area reaches the appeal: 18 convictions requested

The deputy prosecutor of the Catanzaro DDA, Annamaria Frustaci, acting as deputy general prosecutor, invoked 18 convictions in the context of the Petrolmafie appeal process focused on alleged offenses perpetrated by the 'Ndrangheta gangs of the Vibo area and their associates in the hydrocarbons affair . The defendants are accused, in various capacities, of mafia association, extortion, fictitious registration of assets, money laundering, reuse of money of illicit origin, corruption, evasion of taxes and excise duties also through the issuing and use of invoices for non-existent operations, electoral exchange political-mafia and disturbed freedom of enchantments.
The prosecution requested confirmation of the first degree sentence, with abbreviated trial, against Francescantonio Anello, 7 years of imprisonment; Giuseppe Barbieri, 6 years old; Gerardo Caparrotta, 4 years old; Armando Carvelli, 3 years and 2 months; Giovanni Carvelli, 3 years and 4 months; Vincenzo Zera Falduto, 2 years and 10 months; Pasquale Gallone, 6 years old; Giorgio Salvatore, 7 years and 10 months; Giuseppe Mercadante, 4 years and 2 months; Antonio Ricci, 2 years and 6 months; Daniele Prestanicola, 7 years old; Domenico Rigillo, 7 years and 10 months; Orazio Romeo, 5 years old; Alessandro Primo Tirendi, 6 years and 8 months; Angelo Ucchino, 3 years and 2 months; Salvatore Ucchino, 3 years and 8 months.

Last December Gioacchino Falsaperla agreed on the sentence. Furthermore, against Gregorio Gioffrè and Filippo Fiarè, who were acquitted in summary form, the prosecutor invoked 8 years of imprisonment.
