Austrian engineer Gaston Glock, whose Glock pistol gained worldwide cult status, has died this week. The arms manufacturer of the same name has announced his death.

The billionaire was 94 years old. Glock led a secluded existence, but developed one of the world's best-selling handguns, used by police, criminals and in shooting sports. The gun is also used by the Dutch army .
