My vote goes to Louis (Lepke) Bucholter, who had a conglamorate in the Garment District, trucking, movies, bakeries, etc.
Nobody ever talks about the Jewish gangsters in discussions like these. I'm still going through Zwillman's FBI files (and not just that one volume you recommended....the other ones on the FBI Vault. There's a LOT.
I might have asked you this before, but do you think Zwillman really committed suicide?
