For the record, the Holiday Inn Itasca (Chicago) was one of the best places I've ever stayed in -- they were extremely accommodating to us (e.g., they opened the bar early for us; Doubletree closed the bar early for us. ). The end of the survey asked where we had stayed last to rate that, too, and I rated the Holiday Inn in Itasca much higher. They could learn something from them! :p

Geoff, I agree that The Holiday Inn Itasca was extremely accomodating to us all weekend long. If you remember, the first day that I got there we were sitting in the lobby ( yeah, they had us waitng in a lobby!)and when we asked, they opened the bar early for us that afternoon! Then when we all wanted to go to Shula's that night for dinner, they provided a van for us, on the house! And they kept the bar opened for us both nights, well beyond the posted closing time. They definitely were better at customer relations. Double tree had no customer relations. They just yessed you to death.

I remember being in the bar waiting on you guys and the bartender was so nice. I couldn't decide what I wanted to drink, but knew I wanted something sweet (ok girly ). He took this large book out showed me pictures, was very patient as he told me what was in each. Yea, they were pretty cool with us (and patient).

He was VERY nice! He just kept forgetting how to make a martini, even after a dozen or so times I had to remind him.

And the rest is history! After that everytime one of us wnet up to him and ordered drinks, as soon as one of us said "and a blue martini," he immedeatly would respond with " oh no, not again, I know who that one is for!"

But both you and geodff are right, they were really nice to us and practically went out of their way to accomodate us.

So is Geoff hinting to us that he wants to go back to Itasca in 2006?

You know, i tried contacting Harry Lauwrence again. He stood in touch with me after the Chicago convention. Then when the 2005 convention thing fell through, he stopped contacting me. I tried to contact him again and the e-mial address is no longer valid, and the original website is no longer in service. I thought that maybe he was planning something for 2006. That would have been perfect! Guess not.

Here is a funny story: My 79 year old dad called me last night to see if I made it back home from my(Becky's house). Well he proceed's to give me the 3rd degree about going to the BB weekend. He actually thought I was going to go to join the Mafia. No matter how many times I told him I went was to meet people I have a common interest with he wouldn't believe me. Bless his heart everytime I talk to him from now on I know he will bring it up

That is really great!

Did you tell him that we had this big commission dinner at a jewish deli and the representatives from South Jersey, North Jersey, Brooklyn, Staten Island, The Bronx, etc. were all present?

I can just picture a 79 year old father reading his daughter and grandaughter the riot act.

Mig,
I think that's great about your Dad!! Very cute. Hey, where are my pictures? I've been checking my email, but nothing yet.

Glad to hear that you returned home safely. How many miles have you put on your car in the past month alone??

I can't tell you how badly I've been craving cheesequake since that night!

Hey, by the way, Mr. Babe wanted to know if anybody else had trouble staying in bed that night. He said that because of the down pillow topper, the top of the bed was like an upside down U. He said that he almost rolled out of bed 3 or 4 times!!

Me and Mr. Mig went out to eat tonight and I had a piece of cheese cake so I just had to tell him the problems we had at dinner that night.

I slept like a baby in that bed. Even with all those pillows. Both nights. I would love to go back to the Doubletree one day.

Hey guys.....

Would it be too much trouble for anyone to change our date to Wednesday, 9/28?

If it is, please say so. I can make it on the 21st, but for various reasons which I didn't realize, the 28th works a lot better for me.

Whatever  . Just kidding! Been spending too much time with my 15 year old. That's her answer to everything!

I don't think that the 28th will be a problem. I just will have to wait one week longer to see you all again. Hey, I looked up Casa Dante on the web. Is it still BYOB?
