Well, looks like even if I didn't get there in time to enjoy the dinner...at least in terms of the cuisine I picked the better of the two nights to join you guys!!!

Incidentally...the chicken fingers on Friday (which I forced myself to order so as not to be drinking and then driving home to my child on an empty stomach) were delicious but the fries were greasy and apparently either undercooked or the oil just hadn't been hot enough. So I guess in general this hotel isn't the greatest in terms of dining experience.

But hey...it's the company more than the food that made the weekend memorable, yes???

I'm telling you, the food was QUITE incidental. I never had such bad service and such a great time all in the same night!!

Flame Angel and DMC, you guys are without a doubt (sorry if you're sick of hearing this) one of the most adorable couples I have ever seen. You guys were fun, and I hope we get to see more of you!! But, I hope that Angel's presence doesn't make JG too jealous.

I would've loved to see that!

Flame Angel, even though I didn't meet you in person, I can tell already that you're a very sweet gal and that you and DMC are going to live a long and happy life together! I wish you two the best, and I hope you enjoy your time here at the BB!

Angel! I'm so glad you decided to join us on the BB! I told DMC before the weekend not to worry cuz we don't bite (he was initially disappointed about that ) but we're glad you decided to join us!

It was a lot of fun - and you're right - within only like 10 minutes you guys seemed to lose all anxiousness. Hell, I'd've been anxious meeting a couple strangers and getting into their car that quickly and head towards the Fresh Kills Landfill in Staten Island!

I had truly forgotten all about those lousy fries...just thought it ironic that you guys too had food (and service) problems at the very same hotel. Here I thought I had just run into a little bad luck!!

So NEXT time y'all should look into eating at (and staying closer to) Cafe Tivoli in my neighborhood!!! We have a Marriot too, y'know... :p !!!

Hello.

Let me say that I had a great time. My wife and I were talking about the weekend all day today. Everyone was great. It was so nice to see all of you guys again and hopefully I will be able to see all of you guys again soon. Did anyone mention the horse that died at the track? I had a good time at the track, I'am going to start going to the Meadowlands more often to watch the ponies run. Next year we should do the weekend in Las Vegas.

DS

I woke up this morning with nothing to do and went to bed with only half of it done.

I think the single-most precious "scene" in my mind from the weekend was seeing a beautiful sleeping baby in the arms of a very happy father as I was walking past the end of our dining table. The father was Don Smitty and the baby was his REALLY cute daughter. (Mom and daughter share one face).

Me and Becky just got back to VA a couple hours ago and let me tell you I am wiped out from all the driving we did this weekend but it was well worth it. I can't wait for the next BB get together.

Don Cardi- I can't thank you enough for setting this past weekend up. Me and Becky had a great time. The hotel was wonderful exept for what was already mentioned. It was great FINALLY getting to met you and your wonderful family. BTW I thought it was funny that your daughter beat my daughter in a game of pool. PS. Becky loves your smile I must agree.

SC& Lori- Thanks alot for making me and Becky feel so welcomed into this family. I didn't want this weekend to end. You guys are the best.

Geoff- You're the man. I had a great time talking to you. Thanks alot for making me get out on the dance floor and making a total fool of myself. J/K I had fun making a fool of myself. Thanks alot for taking us to go see the Corleone house that was great seeing a great piece of history. When I get back to WVA I'll go look for a Jewish Deli and If I find one I'll order a tongue sandwich and think of you. Congrats again on your 10 year anniversary.

SB& Hubby- I wish we got to talk more. It was nice seeing you and Becky on the dance floor. I can't wait to see you guys again.

DMC&Flame- I had alot of fun going to the Corleone house and having dinnner with you. You guys are a great couple and I wish you many wonderful years together.

Don Smitty- It was nice saying HI & Bye to you. Next time we will have to talk more. You have a wonderful wife and a precious baby girl.

Plaw- It was my pleasure to be able to sit next to you at dinner. Even though you are a liberal HAHA. I was impressed with your knowledge of wines. It was great being able to meet you. I'm sorry your GF wasn't able to come.

Apple- I'm sorry we didn't get to talk more. It was great getting to meet you.

We got to get Becky to join the BB.

I was pretty pissed off that I missed the Friday night dinner at Harold's Deli, particularly in light of the Saturday night dinner at The "Tuscany" Grill.

After hearing JG carry on about how good the tongue at Harold's was, I went into the city yesterday, picked up half a pound of tongue, half a pound of corned beef, some cole slaw and a gigantic sour pickle at the Second Avenue Deli, and came home and ate almost all of it in one sitting.

The scene Saturday night in the hotel went something like this :

DON MALTA : Tell Smitty to come in the lounge with us.
He should hear some things.

They go, leaving DMC scanning the hotel looking for SMITTY.

INT NIGHT: DON'S Table (SUMMER 2005)

DMC glances up the staircase.

DMC : Smitty?

Then he goes up.

INT NIGHT: Smitty's hotel Room (SUMMER 2005)

SMITTY and his wife are in a room upstairs;

Smiity's Wife :Smitteeeeeeee, wake up!

Smitty's head bouncing against the pillow with the rhythm of his snoring. But there is a knocking as well. The snoring stops.

DMC : Smitty? Smitty, you in there?

INT NIGHT: Doubltree UPSTAIRS HALLWAY (SUMMER 2005)

DMC by the door.

DMC : Don Malta wants you; Mig and Sicilian Babe are
here.

SMITTY : (O.S.) Okay. One minute.

DMC hesitates. We HEAR Smitty's head hitting the
pillow again. DMC leaves.

I STILL don't understand how you guys can eat tongue!! Gross. I try to keep an open mind when it comes to food, but I just can't get past the whole concept of a big ol' cow tongue. Not that it's really any more disgusting than eating any other part of a cow's body, if you really think about it.

Well, the Big Ragoo, the guy who danced to "I'm a Pepper" in the Dr. Pepper commercials, and Riff from West Side Story will be there. West Side Story is one of my favorite movie musicals, but do you really want to risk another trip to Illinois?? Can SC survive another trip to the ER??

SB, I always skeeved the thought of eating an animal's tongue. ( notice that I specifiaclly said an animal ). Then this past weekend I decided to try it. Not bad at all.
