Hey, how come I miss you guys so much already?? DC, if I only knew!! SC - tell Lori we need to go handbag shopping together soon, since we have such similar taste.

Is anyone watching The Godfather right now? Michael's in Sicily and about to take a walk with Fabrizzio and Calo. God, these scenes make me want to hop on a plane!! They're going to Corleone, and I believe there is a thunderbolt in store for the young Mr. Corleone!!

If I only knew that you were still at TK's, I would've put my dancing shoes back on, and stopped by!!

What a liar I am! I'm already in my "smelly jammies" (my kids gave me lavendar scented pajamas for Mother's Day, and that's what they call them), in my recliner, watching The Godfather, and posting.

Hey, you know what Sonny is about to say? Touch my sister again and I'll kill ya!!

You know SB, you'll never ever be able to watch that scene again without thinking of me.

Here's Don Cardi and the restaurant Manager :

And SC sitting at the other end of the table saying to himself " How am I ever going to control this Don Cardi? :

For those of you watching the Godfather, did any of you see a commercial for a movie (The 40-Year Old Virgin) that reminded you of DMC?

In the trailer for this movie, I swear, they showed a girl with her thong showing above her jeans, and it just immediately reminded me of this.

oh sure DC show the manager on the ground, don't show that phantom punch that put 'em there lol

I called up that restaurant today, cause I was really pissed about the service, I didn't get the manager's name so he will be called RM. Needless to say I think I got my point across:

DMC: You have to answer for this service, RM.

RM: DMC you got it all wrong.

DMC: You served that food cold because of the Double Tree people. That little game you played with refilling my water, you think you can fool a Corleone?

RM: DMC, I'm Innocent, I swear on the kids DMC, please don't do this to me.

DMC: Sit down.

RM: Don't do this to me plesae.

DMC: The owner's gone, so is the waiter, the waitress, the bus boy, today I settled all culinary business, so don't tell me you're innocent, RM. Admit what you did.
Don't be afraid RM, you think I'd leave this manager's job vacant? I'm a customer to your restaurant, RM.
No RM, you're off my list of restaurants, that's your punishment. There is a car outside waiting for our refund. Only don't tell me your innocent. Because it insults my intelligence, and makes me very angry.
Now who approached you the Hotel owner or the Restuarant owner?

RM: The Restaurant owner

DMC: Good.
There's a car waiting outside to take the refund. I'll call the hotel to let them know where you are going.

RM: DMC, please

DMC: come on, get off the phone.

He hasn't called me back yet though

Sounds like you all had a blast! I'm jealous! I'm glad you all had a great time.

I'll be legal next year, so hopefully I'll be able to join the list.

You don't need to drink to have a good time somewhere. I was having a great time, only problem was the bar was blasting this "music" (I use that term VERY loosely) so it was hard for me to hear everyone.

They are a great bunch of people, 10 minutes after I met them it was like we always knew each other.

At first I thought SC was doing some old 50's-style dance routine, until it became evident that he was flagging SB from the dance floor! Everyone's a critic!!

hey guys, this is DMC's fiancee. just got home from work,(long xploratory surgery) so im a little tired please forgive the confusion and misspelling im sure that will end up making this post.
i just had to say that it was truly an honor and my pleasure meeting you all. you all made me feel so comfortable and were all such wonderful people so how could i not join the group and get to talk to everyone on a daily basis. as my better half said you all made us feel amazingly comfortable and at home within the first 10 minutes and from there on the rest is history.
despite an aweful manager and a bar that was a little too loud for even my own liking the entire day/evening was wonderful and i look forward to doing it again next month ne time you guys r in jersey feel free to swing by and visit
im still new to this board stuff but i already kno im making this post too long for people to want to read so i end this one shortly
to SC and his wife im so glad DMC and i sat across from you at the dinner table, our conversations made me feel like i was catching up with longtime friends. you guys are such warm AND FUNNY people
to JG: thank you for driving us to visit the fatherlands in staten island...and remind us we owe you money for the ride your friendliness and jovial attitude are contagious
to PLaw: or should i say JG's date as affectionately deemed by our befuddled waiter i wish we could have spent more time with you than just at dinner your knowledge of everything from the godfather to wines and restaurants and seemingly everything else under the sun is amazing to listen to and learn from i look forward to getting together again and making sure that i sit near you for your hilarious remarks and for the thoughts and wisdom you share
to Mignon and her daughter: it was nice to have some girls on our pilgrimage to the fatherlands that afternoon. maybe next time ill have the guts to go out on the dance floor with you Becky, i think i need a few more drinks in me i look forward to the next time we all get together
to Sicilian Babe and her husband: i never heard about this breaking into the pool talk...i so would have been in on that was that you guys too who had thought up the fish? you guyz were hilarious
to Don Smitty and his wife: i wish that we had gotten to talk to you guys more it was hard though with the table being so long but i speak for DMC as well when i say we look forward to seeing you the next time
to Don Cardi and his wife: hey mang! i wanna say that it was a pleasure talking to you Don, you truly are a stand up guy for the way that you handled the restaurant
okay now that ive taken up so much space and should be getting to sleep for tomorrow nights work since im now an official member of the board ill be talking to you guys

Flame Angel-

Welcome to the boards! I think that this may be a first for us all in that we got to meet a member before they actually became a member.

It was a pleasure meeting you and I am sure that we'll get a chance to get together again sometime soon.

Your man DMC is a good man, so hold on to him.

I look forward to our next meeting.

Anyway, had a great time on Friday night and it was wonderful to finally meet JGeoff/SC/Don Cardi/Mignon and all respective spouses/children...what a warm, friendly group of people!!

As everyone else, I was sorry I couldn't spend more time with the group but am glad to have just gotten together for the first time. Will try to attend more gatherings and meet more of the Gangster BB crown on future excursions!!

By the way...the pastrami y'all sent me home with was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Now...I'll be dreaming about it till the next time I can get my hands on a good batch. If you ever decide to gather at Harold's Deli again, feel free to let me know, now that I know where to find it I'll be there before, not after the dinner has ended!!
