What many people call a coup attempt was actually an attempt by Prighozhin to wrest control of the Russian military from Defense Minister Zhoigu and head of Russian General command Gerasimov. In a a deal allegedly brokered by President Lukachenko, Prighozhin has been afforded safe haven in Belarus Meanwhile, Ukranian troops advance in the Kherson region and Donbas region with gains near Bahkmut.
