The ones who are still involved with the life have nothing to do with Junior. They despise that man for what he did. The man Pennisi is referring to is Stevie Kaplan who owns Cross Island Tire & Wheel, but Kaplan hates Junior as well. They absolutely do not speak and it's Junior's property manager who collects the rent. While it may seem strange to some that Stevie pays him rent, but Junior ain't jacking up that rent. He's their bitch basically

Yea, just an odd situation where if Kaplan is kicking up through that business to the mob, the mob is essentially giving Junior money... strange one
