I would assume anyone encroaching into the money they're making will hear from them. Eg that big Bronx/Yonkers case with Patsy Parello and them they had a gambling business down the road that was doing better than their one, I believe they were both casino type dens. In that scenario I think they attacked them (blew up a car or something) rather than sought money from them. But be it gambling, drugs or whatever I am sure if anyone not mob affiliated is encroaching into their money stream they will try and get their hands on the money or the person.. Inevitably though that person will then run to a mobster they know who can then claim them and get some proceeds for themself
