It's possible... POSSIBLE I could join you at least for a meal on Friday evening but I warn you now I'd be bringing my 6yr old and besides that DON'T hold me to it.

Saturday would've been great except that it's the night of our town's annual Luau and after all...who would want to miss THAT..!!!

So, if one shows up on Saturday afternoon, one is supposed to just wander around looking for men with shaved heads and movie-themed shirts?? As Apple said, is there an itinerary?

What itinerary? You get there, you check in, you go to your room, what you do there is your business, when your done in your room, you come down to the pool, we drink, we swim, we bask in the sun. And if you look for a shaved head, you'll find SC. My hair, it's starting to grow back. Not much, but some.

Actually we were throwing around the idea of going to Harold's deli for dinner on Friday evening. Geoff and SC are just dying to go there.

Then at night we can hang out and drink in the hotel Bar/Lounge area.

As for Saturday, well I think that basically you can do whatever you want in the day. Go shopping, golfing, hang out by the pool, go to NYC, whatever your heart desires.

Unfortunately there are not enough of us attending where the hotel can set something up for us in regards to a private party. I originally tried, but we did not get enough responses.

We'll wing it, and believe me, I'm sure we'll have a great time.

I'm really not sure -- I'd like to play it by ear. I'm usually not one to have every single minute of the vacation planned, because then it becomes exhausting. I will try to hit that gym, tho - I've been too lazy lately. Hot tub is a definite.

Remember Chicago? We "planned" on attending a convention all weekend, but that never really happened. (Come to think of it, what did we do all weekend besides go to the ballgame and eat and drink and eat and drink? )

And I agree. I hate a planned out full day. I like to do things on a whim. But some others had asked if we had anything planned, so I just threw out some ideas.

We'll play it by ear when we are all together.

As for knowing who's who, well a funny story that I'll share with you about that.

When I went to Chicago last year I had NOT met anyone before that trip. Had really no idea what anyone looked like. Now mind you this was a Golden Age Of Gangsters Convention so people were coming and going out of the place who were from different parts of the country and not from the gangster bb. So anyway Mikey Montana and myself are checking into the hotel and Mikey says to me " How are you going to know who these people are?" and I give him one of these I don't know looks while shrugging my shoulders.

Now SC and I have a history on the boards of calling each other " My most valued and trusted friend."

So the elevator doors open and 2 guys and two girls come walking off and Mikey Montana asks me " Could these people be from the boards?" So I turn to him and say" Let's find out." And as the 4 people are passing me I say out loud, without looking at them " My Most Valued and Trusted Friend. " and this one guy turns around to me and says
"Don Cardi!" and I look at him and say " SC!" It was Sc, Lori TIS and Geoff!

10 Minutes later we were all sitting in a restaurant ordering breakfast, and we were basically inseprable for the rest of the weekend.

So don't worry SB, we'll know who you are.

Sounds good. I'm a born worrier, a trait that one of my daughter's has unfortunately inherited. I love the scene from The Princess Bride when Fezzik, Inigo and Wesley storm the castle, and they're all worried about how they're going to defeat the Count and Prince Humperdink, rescue the princess, and then find each other again. I can certainly identify with that one!!

Ok, so from the info I'm getting...a bunch of BB-ers have simply reserved rooms at this hotel and will basically hang out at the pool and have meals, drinks etc. together and chat. Just like one of those nights out, only this lasts for 2 nights and a day!!

BB-er NOT checked in can still join guests for dinner, drinks etc ( ) if they reside within a reasonable proximity and choose to do so.

So even though its being called a 'Gangster BB Weekend', there's really no Gangster or Godfather related events planned, just a gang of folks getting together and enjoying whatever conversation happens to come up.

And there you have it. I tried. Originally, as SC and Geoff are aware, I was in contact with the promoter of the 2004 Gangster COnvention show in Chicago. I hooked him up with several hotels, including a Casino host in Atlantic City, but they just could not reach an agreement. So he squashed the whole 2nd annual Gangster Convention idea.
So we decided that we would try and have our own little Gangster BB weekend on our own.
Way back around January or so. I contacted the group sales manager about the possibility of setting up a private room for us, with a party, discounted rooms, etc. She was willing to be very accomadating as long as there were a set amount of people attending that would warrent her giving us a private room and a party. Obviously we did not get enough attendees, many just would not commit, so basically it's turned into our own little thing, which is not so bad. Basically last year in Chicago we had our own little crew and had a great time together.


No commitments, no perks. Sorry.
