"La Stampa" has revealed details from the "Eureka" mega-operation, noting that among them was an Albanian, the much-wanted Eldi Dizdari (Denis Matoshi).

He was arrested in Dubai, but it is still unclear whether the Italian authorities will continue to seek Dizdari's extradition to Florence, where part of the cocaine group recently received sentences from Italian justice, but until now Italy has no extradition agreement with the United Arab Emirates.

The investigation started with the Pelle, Strangio, Nirta, Giampaolo, Mammoliti and Giorgi gangs in 2019 after the members of the "Nirta di San Luca" gang were put under surveillance.

"During the investigations, the organization of a shipment to Brazil of a container full of weapons of war, coming from a country of the former Soviet Union, was documented."

Several organizations were created to traffic weapons and cocaine. The first reconstructed association concerns the Nirta family, "Versu" of San Luca, which was based in Brazil, represented by the fugitive Vincenzo Pasquino, captured in 2021 together with the drug lord Rocco Morabito.

The second belongs to the Mammoliti "Fischiante" family of Bovalino with 'nodes' in Puglia, Abruzzo, Lazio, Tuscany and Lombardy and who have direct contacts with South American cocaine suppliers and international traffickers such as Denis Matoshi (Eldi Dizdari), currently absconding in Dubai. The third association belongs to the Strangio "Fracascia" family linked to the Nirta-Strangio gangs involved in the Duisburg massacre of 2007. This third organization, according to investigators, had stable branches in Genk (Belgium), Munich (Germany) , Spain and Canberra (Australia).
