From the newest article: A federal judge has ordered a Cheektowaga strip club owner slated to go to trial in three months on bribery, drug trafficking and sex trafficking charges to remain in custody following his latest arrest on witness tampering and drug charges. District Judge John L. Sinatra Jr. ruled there was "clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions of release will reasonably assure the safety of any other person and the community," according to court documents. Sinatra also found that because of Peter G. Gerace Jr.'s prior criminal history, the length of prison time he faces if convicted and the "strong" weight of evidence against him, he should be detained pending trial, according to the documents. I have not seen any evidence that Peter Gerace Jr. was ever made. Rumor aroud Buffalo is he is upset he never got his button. His father was definitely an associate, but I have not seen any LE sources indicating he was ever made. There are rumors around Buffalo that Gerace Sr. is a made man. He was close to Todaro Jr at 210. Also rumors that he had a falling out with Todaro because he and his wife Linda (Todaro’s sister) haven’t seen any benefit from La Nova. Todaro indicated he hasn’t had anything to do with his nephews for years. (Could be true or could be a story to help keep him insulated from what he knows his nephews were involved with.) Gerace Sr.’s mother is a Pieri and the Pieri’s battled the Todaros for control of Buffalo in the later 70’s early 80’s. It appears to me their is still a division in Buffalo between Todaro and those members and associates that had closer relationships with the Pieri’s. No official evidence. Just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

Gerace's legal team has once again made a motion to modify the protective order. In the Governments opposition they state that they are concerned with: A. Witness statements and identities will be disseminated to third parties, putting them in danger. B. Doesn't believe Gerace will comply with the protective order citing the following history: 1. Of hurting people 2.Of committing felonies 3. Of lying to probation 4. Access to powerful and corrupt individuals, and 5. His contacts in the criminal underworld See: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nywd.135098/gov.uscourts.nywd.135098.415.0.pdfAlso, Gerace filled a motion contesting the revocation of his release and subsequent detention after the new witness tampering indictment. In the governments opposition to this motion we learn about allegations that Gerace made false statements and fraudulently took out and modified a $2,000,000 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) with the Small Business Administration. On the other side of the fence in Canada they are outright referring to Violi as the U.B. Of the family.
In one of the recent articles that was posted about Rizzutto getting shot.
Yeah, They Buffalo News is pretty much doing the same. They report that Stephen Metelsky has confirmed the report about Todaro appointing Violi as underboss as "authentic." Across the border
At about the same time Cohen declared the local Mafia all but deceased, mob investigators in Canada took a different position.
In 2017, Canadian authorities said a Hamilton drug trafficker named Domenico Violi was appointed by Todaro as the “underboss” of the Buffalo mob family.
Todaro has denied that claim, but retired Canadian mob investigator Stephen Metelsky told The News the report is “authentic.”
Metelsky, who retired in 2017 as an investigator for the Halton Regional Police, outside Toronto, was part of a task force that investigated ties between Canadian mob organizations and crime families in New York City and Buffalo.
Metelsky said Violi boasted of his appointment to the Buffalo post to a New York City mobster who was a paid, confidential agent for police.
Metelsky said Todaro and other suspected mobsters in Buffalo are extremely careful and have been in “turtle mode” for many years.
