At the end of 2022 China has closed its illegal police stations in the Netherlands. The Chinese embassy has confirmed this to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry has 'as yet' found no indications that the agencies are involved in intimidation of Chinese people in the Netherlands, but is conducting further investigations.

This is written by Minister Wopke Hoekstra of Foreign Affairs in response to questions from the House of Representatives. At the end of October, RTL News revealed that two Chinese police forces had opened branches in the Netherlands.

Service points
China first denied its existence, then downplayed it. It would only concern 'service points' for Chinese people abroad.

The Chinese embassy insists to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that they have not interfered with the agencies. They would have been set up by volunteers to be able to renew a driver's license, for example, as long as travel to China is not possible due to covid.

This statement is striking, because one of the police stations was already established in 2018, long before Covid-19 appeared for the first time. RTL Nieuws also revealed that senior representatives of the Chinese embassy were at a meeting where the existence of the agencies was discussed.
