Mafia superboss Matteo Messina Denaro said he planned to take his own life before his cancer got the better of him, according to a letter penned to his sister before his capture and published by La Repubblica newspaper on Monday.
"I will not die of cancer, as soon as I cannot take it any more I will kill myself at home and you will find me.

I will tell you when the time comes," wrote the now jailed Messina Denaro, who was captured at a Palermo cancer clinic in January after 30 years on the run.
