As the family old-timers die off, their offspring (children and grandchildren) have little embarrassment and find nothing wrong with airing their family's private dirty laundry, in public. They call the newspapers, hire lawyers and sue one another in civil court, bring judgements, and trash one another publicly like it's a cheap reality show.
Unfortunately, this younger generation, generally speaking, don't carry the same "traditions" as their elders. They have a scummy "new" mindset. A more "Americanized" mindset.
Their parents must be turning over in their graves. Not only the Gigante family, but old-fashioned Italian families in general.
For every young person who was taught the "old" traditions and values by their elders, and honors those values. There's another twenty young jerk-offs who were never taught shit, or were taught those lessons, but choose to cast them aside and don't give a shit. After all, its the "me me" generation.
I personally, find It all very distasteful.

Talking of the Genovese family and blood family, I just got the Philly rat Salernos book. It states N.Scarfos dad Phil was a Genovese member. Don't think I've ever seen much about his dad ,always the uncle.
Is that true ? Nicky Scarfo was born in Brooklyn, right ?? Could very well be !! Leonetti in his book claims his grandpop was "straight"..but I've also somewheres also read he was a genovese.
I didn't want to leave blood on your carpet...

Good question !
I don’t know but when they moved in property values were down in 60’s ( but i am sure her family helped ) .
They didn’t buy the house next door till late 70’s possibly 80 . O.K. Serp...but..records say that Nicky Sr. moved in around ' 63 or so...& there were survellience shots of the gang out front of 28 n. georgia ave....b4 the 80s.....".Phillips Apartments" was @ 28 Georgia av. back in the late 70s @ least...back when Vince Sausto had an insurance co. & the restaurant. Yeah man … apartment building 60’s House next door is sisters name 77-80 … ( i am getting old and can’t remember exact years of things ) Nick’s mother was able to get money from her brothers no problem.
