The investigation into the 'Ndrangheta families of Locride
The trial was born from the investigation by the Dda of Reggio Calabria which in July 2017 had identified the hierarchies and organizational charts of 23 families of the 'Ndrangheta present in the Locride area leading to the arrest of 168 people accused, for various reasons, of mafia association, illegal possession of clandestine munitions and common firearms and war weapons, bid rigging, illicit competition with violence and threats, fictitious registration of goods, money laundering, fraud and aggravated fraud to obtain public funds and numerous other related crimes, with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia.
