The 'Ndrangheta ''is the main criminal agency on the planet''

The Anti-Mafia Commission recounts the evolution of the Calabrian mafia, between secrecy, "special rules" and external entities
The 'Ndrangheta is not only a mafia-type criminal organization with supranational characteristics, but " a real and proper well-branched " and " unitary " system of power, endowed with " visible " hierarchies and characterized by the presence of " hidden associates " who , as such, " must not under any circumstances be declared to the members of the basic structure, as they are called to operate in 'reserved' contexts, through 'secret' top management structures whose existence is known only to a small, highly selected circle of very high-ranking affiliates ”.
All this is affirmed by the "Report on the relationship between organized crime and Masonic lodges" written by the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission. A detailed document that analyzes the evolutionary path of the 'Ndrangheta on the basis of the acts of the "Gotha" trial - conducted by the prosecutor of Reggio Calabria Giuseppe Lombardo - and of inquiries such as "Meta", "Crimine" and "Infinito".
The " thinking head " of the 'Ndrangheta - reads the document - is " confidential, occult, Masonic or invisible (the strategic direction) characterized by a mixed composition (the so-called 'integrated entities') ". Alongside the top exponents of the " visible " 'Ndrangheta – “chosen among those who possess not only apical skills, as such authorized to compose the Province (organizational management), but also special offices, as such authorized to direct the further decision-making bodies (operational management) ” – “they take part, as 'hidden' associates, qualified subjects coming from converging operational contexts to whom the tasks of confidentially taking care of the stable functional connection between the top 'visible' component of the mafia-type organization and the covered Masonic organizations are delegated, such as indispensable interfaces with the political, institutional, entrepreneurial and professional circles ”, continues the document.
To guarantee the efficiency of the 'Ndrangheta criminal organization, understood as a complex criminal system, " it was necessary to create a further strategic level component within it ", made up of a " restricted committee " of " thinking heads" to whom the exclusive task of entrusting to apply the special rules, execute the programs and update the first reserved structure of the 'Ndrangheta: 'la Santa' ”. This special dictate consists of "secret rules governing the activities of the 'reserved top management' (to be considered the evolution of the 'Santa company'), within the 'Ndrangheta". These " place themselves in a specialty relationship ", and as such "prevail over the traditional basic rules, which continue to find punctual application towards members of the "visible" components of the same mafia-type organization ". Furthermore, the special rules, “ dictated above all for the purpose of preserving and protecting the reserved apical structure, are characterized by extreme application rigidity so as to prevent entry into 'regular' Masonic apparatuses for members of the 'visible' 'Ndrangheta and, vice versa, prevent the entry into the 'visible' 'Ndrangheta' of subjective components coming from recognized Masonic organizations ”. Thanks to this regulation, entry into the reserved apical structure is allowed only to " belonging to covered masonry ": "only the 'covered' Freemason - i.e. the one who is unknown as such even to his fellow lodgers - is enabled to enter the aforementioned occult structure at the top of the 'Ndrangheta, exactly like only the member of the 'Ndrangheta endowed with very high degrees (' redundancies') or vested with special offices can enter 'covered masonry' ”. The double regime of secrecy "is imposed in order to preserve both the 'lay' component (as the so-called 'Masons' are indicated in 'Ndrangheta jargon) of the 'invisible' 'Ndrangheta' (which does not exist for the lowest grades) and the 'cardinal' component (those who were originally the so-called 'santists'), with the evident aim of creating a false representation of reality in which the lower echelons are led to think that the confidential relationships of the big bosses can be referred to environments external to the criminal organization, which instead it finds its highest decision-making body in the 'occult' strategic direction (made up of 'santists' and 'masons' in the meanings just mentioned)” , we read. It is the process that – according to the documents available to the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission – is defined as “ scotomization”, which “ has the purpose of definitively transforming the 'Ndrangheta from a mafia-type criminal organization (operating on a territorial type) to the main criminal agency on the planet: to achieve this decisive result, the great families of the three districts (above all De Stefano , Piromalli and Nirta ' La Maggiore ') understand that it is necessary to create gray areas, to exploit the mental prejudices and stereotypes, the preconceptions and pre-understandings of those belonging to the lower levels ”.
Returning to the " additional subjects " within the 'Ndrangheta, however, the document underlines how these are " confidential " or " secret "” compared to those coming directly from the criminal context of the mafia type. “ The primary purpose of this original organizational solution is to avoid the risk of duplicating already existing apical structures, with the consequent generation of misunderstandings towards the other components of the same criminal system, of lower rank, in relation to the specific skills of each - wrote the Bicameral - . Thus, to avoid this danger, something absolutely new was created, something so reserved that it could in no case be perceived as existing by the intermediate and basic levels, which by their nature need certain rules, recognizable subjects and above all of authoritative bosses with an important, and recognizable, criminal history”.
