It's interesting to me that the feds took so many years to take down and indict these guys for what essentially amounted to a glorified gambling case, card games and joker-poker slot machines no less.
IMO they were waiting, and hoping, that bigger fish and heavier criminal acts would fall into their net. Which obviously didn't happen.
Still, considering the "lack" of major organized crime prosecutions over the last decade or so, the government must feel somewhat satisfied that they were able to arrest several reputedly key guys from two families.
I mentioned it earlier, 3 years. They spoke to the cop in the case in January of 2020, and had started the investigation in 2019 or earlier. They came up with a big nothing. They wasted time and taxpayer money, so now they have to act as if they accomplished something.
