Gravano was drug into an indictment because of Gotti's big mouth on tapes, with Gotti implicating him in several murders. He was facing life because of it when all he wanted to do was stay low-key and make money. DiLeonardo to my understanding flipped because he was shelved after stealing from the Family. A very petty reason to turn compared to Gravano.
That excuse of Gotti and the tapes is BS. Gravano was not low key. He was killing everyone around him, and drawing attention,
I see the "Gotti had big mouth" or Gotti was the reason for..." excuses being repeated by excuse makers and people who hate Gotti. Hate him for your reasons, but don't go with BS from Gravano or the feds.
