Haven't listened to it yet, and I can't really imagine that he'll cover a whole lot of new ground here that the others haven't - but I'll be the first to admit that I'll give it a listen the minute I have a chance to do so. Always thought Scars was one of the more credible government witnesses, although I must admit I'm a little disappointed to see him getting into the podcast game.

Wasn't his excuse for flipping was him having to pay tribute to his bosses or something like that? Guys will use anything for an excuse these days.

I believe he was shelved while he was in prison and that was his excuse ultimately. Of course the Gambino family of that era in particular was still a dysfunctional mess still trying to recover from the Gotti era, even as John & Peter Gotti remained the titular bosses.

DiLeonardo's defection seemed to me like one of those totally preventable flips that wouldn't have happened if the family had strong leadership on the street at the time.

He was running a strip club, which the Gambino put him into, plus they gave him other things. He stole fro the, once and got a pass, likely can he ws close to Junior. Then he did it again. After his arrest he turned rat, and even testified against Junior Gotti.
Naturally he blames everyone in the mob. He also uses the trick of "Being himself up" as they say. In other words, he calls himself a rat, a snitch, and other things in order to deter people from saying it about him. His co host should wear a cheerleader skirt and wave pom moms. He keeps making excuses for DiLeonardo whenever he admits to being a rat. I watched once, he wears these small granny glasses to look softer. Why wear reading glasses when doing an interview but not reading?

Gravano was drug into an indictment because of Gotti's big mouth on tapes, with Gotti implicating him in several murders. He was facing life because of it when all he wanted to do was stay low-key and make money. DiLeonardo to my understanding flipped because he was shelved after stealing from the Family. A very petty reason to turn compared to Gravano.

From where I'm sitting, it seems like from the early 1990s and before, guys had pretty solid reasons for flipping, but as time went on and the fear of retaliation decreased, we start seeing guys flip left and right over every little thing. Oh my capo said something to hurt my feelings? Flip. A soldier from another crew looked at me funny? Flip. If I'm not mistaken that Bent Finger Lou guy from Philly flipped over a 5-year sentence. It's a joke.

The comments are really strange, I wonder about the mental health of the people who follow them. I think many are from their family and friends and even themselves using multiple accounts. Like when they say to Gravano "You are true LCN!!!!!"
