FWIW this builds also on the DNC having "fake primaries" in 2016 where Bernie could not be the nominee because the DNC itself had made a secret deal with Hillary Clinton.
The DNC claimed this was an investment and therefore not subject to these restrictions, but imo the DNC never revealed this information to 'investors' which is also illegal.
