Always read that to bring someone in to LCN circle, that a made man/ associate had to vouch for the person he's ' bringing in '. You're responsible for their actions etc.. on pain of death if that person turns ' bad' eg rats , does something that brings heavy LE heat. So, any cases where someone paid the penalty? Can only think of donnie brasco and sonny red and lefty ( if he had stayed on streets).

I wonder if it applied to associates or short term members. I think in cases like Scarpa the rat, he was around so long whoever vouched for him may have been dead. Also if a person is made a long time before turning rat, the sponsor may be forgiven since everyone by that point everyone else had accepted the member who becomes a rat.

Tony Mirra was also supposedly killed over the "Brasco fiasco". He actually was the first made guy in the Bonannos to connect with Pistone. He even asked for a sitdown to have his claim on Brasco recognized, His uncle, Al Embarrato (AKA Al Walker),was one of the shooters.

Its another myth. Apart Donnie Brasco case, nobody was killed because sponsored a rat because the members flipped decade after be inducted so would be useless to kill a wiseguy because between many men he sponsored someone flipped.
