If I read the article correctly, Lancia was actually made Chapter Prez at 29.
Generally speaking,in the 1%er world, that is a bit young for that position,but it really depends on what you bring to the Club,your level of respect from fellow Patchholders,and a proven track record of putting the Club first.

For example,Chuck Zito was made President of the H.A. NYC chapter at the age of 31.
In my neck of the woods, a local Pag*ns Chapter had a Pres and VP who were both in their early 30's.

But to address your original point, those are indeed exceptions to the norm.
