Before RICO, guys still got harsh sentences especially for drug crimes and still remained affiliated. They're just softer now, and it seems like a tough pill for many people to swallow. RICO is a law that should have been overturned. I am in agreement on too many people saying it's RICO, it isn't. Judges have always hit anyone accused of Mafia ties with heavier sentences. Many ethnic groups, Italians among them, had little or no chance at decent jobs and wages. That changed a long time ago. People also are softer now.
