Italian mafia boss is on trial in Tongeren for cocaine trafficking
The infamous Italian mobster Sebastiano Signati and nineteen of his accomplices are on trial in the criminal court of Tongeren at the beginning of January. They are suspected of large-scale cocaine trafficking.
Signati (55) lived in hiding in Belgium for eleven years. Smart and careful enough to always stay out of the hands of the authorities, except when he ended up in a private hospital in Brussels in 2015 due to heart problems.
