The names were given by the government after Valachi testified. If there had been other bosses, they would have their names attached to the families. As for them paying that man $100,000 t testify, that is untrue. They also have said it was Gambino, another time it was blamed on Lansky for whatever reason. Nelson Cantellops was the rats name, he lied to get out of prison, he was a small timer. He actually stayed around in New York and was killed in a bar. Gigante was also a defendant, as were other top members of several families. Nelson Cantellops later recanted his testimony, then after being confronted with prison time again, went back and said it was true, claiming John Ormento called him up and offered him money to change his testimony to get Genovese and the others out of prison.
