2 1/2 years for assault is not a light sentence, you think someone deserves a double-digit sentence just for beating someone up?
He beat a guy in the head with a black jack. That is not simple assault. He also had a rap sheet and already did prison time. Those are all aggrevating factors that work against him at sentencing. So yes, 2 1/2 years is a light sentence especially when he admitted to being a member of organized crime.
