I had a Knight of Columbus tell me once that the Pedophile Scandal in the Church is nothing more than a Communist plot against the church with an organization named Nambla (North American Boy Love Association).
Communists don’t believe in God/Goddess or the soul, and Pedophiles are definitely soulless demons, so who knows.

TBH, Gigante probably did it. I wouldn't be inclined to believe any other priest was innocent, and it's no different with him just cause his brother was a mob boss.
