Well the obvious answer is so they won’t go to jail for life. But to me they come from a world of deception anyway so it’s just what they know. The whole “honor†thing is really a facade. That’s why I always say that they are all equal pieces of shit. My only issue is that the sentences for cooperators are too lenient. For example I’ve always said Sammy should have at least gotten the sentence he got from the ecstasy conviction in his original sentence in the 90’s considering he was involved in 19 murders and was heavily involved in Gotti’s crimes he was convicted on yes, getting off scot free for 19 bodies is a travesty. And look what he did afterwards after the judge gave him a break . I agree it was a terrible decision. Even though my father was a cop and I’m a proud supporter of our Men/Women police officers I don’t like a lot of what the FBI is doing or has done. For example Lin Devecchio was a total piece of shit with what he did with Scarpa. But still anybody is the mob whether they’re a rat or not I have zero respect for

None of them get wacked they just make money off of Podcasts and interviews. Now Sammy the Head Rat is going to be on a reality show . What's to stop them anymore.? Of course. I totally agree. Where's the fear? Where's the embarrassment over their "loss of honor" in their neighborhoods? Where's the outrage from their blood families and personal fiends? All of those things were detractors in the "good old days" from becoming a rat. Where I grew up in NYC. In the era that I grew up in. It was probably one of the most dishonorable things any guy could become. To be known as a "stool pigeon" or "rat" was almost a fate worse than death for most guys. It was a very rare occourance. Nowadays? Ho-Hum, its just no big deal anymore. Crazy, yet true.
